Peace can be grown in our world every day, and each of us has an effect on this growth with our words, actions, and energies. When we join together, our capacity to grow peace expands exponentially.

As individuals, we have the capacity to join together in a collective voice that empowers leaders and representatives to make decisions every day on behalf of the many. From the local level to the global level, government officials and business managers can make a tremendous difference through their support of public policies and business practices that have the capacity to grow peace and reduce conflict.

The Branch of Peace Foundation works with government and business partners across the globe to build the capacity for peace, through “Peace is a verb” advisory and consultation services that will create the changes necessary to grow peace in our organizations, our communities, our nations, and in our world.

International Day of Peace – Annual Events (September 21st)

On September 28th 2001, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously approved a resolution declaring that September 21st of every given year will be observed as an International Day of Peace “with this date to be brought to the attention of all people for the celebration and observance of peace”, and that this day shall be henceforth observed as “a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, and an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the day”.

The unanimous approval of the International Day of Peace by the community of nations that form the United Nations is a monumental step forward in the cause of peace in our world.  While fulfillment of the goal of peace between all nations of the world remains elusive, and while the consensus for the establishment of an International Day of Peace is only the first step in this journey, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Join the Branch of Peace Foundation in recognizing and celebrating the International Day of Peace every September 21st.  Contact us today to find out how you use your voice, your volition, and your votes to grow peace in our world every day, and for future generations to come.
